Around the shop and beyond - what's happening at Two Sisters Boutique
We sincerely hope that your holidays were merry, bright, and filled with love and that many of your wishes came true. We are so busy with the shop during the weeks preceding Christmas, that we must pack a great deal into a few days. We took one day off and did all of our Christmas shopping and that was a relief to have it done so we could move on to other chores. We were actually finished with everything late Christmas Eve so Christmas morning found us in a relaxed state with only cooking to do. We were a much smaller gathering this year and that took some adjustment on our part. Our son Jay and his family (the Sugar Sisters) are now stationed in Hawaii and we missed them so very much. Our dear friends missed their first Christmas dinner with us  in twenty three years and we were  very sad to see their places empty. Our daughter Jessica and her family (Ellie and Molly) came mid-afternoon and we were waiting for son Josh and his tribe (Emily and Ryan) to arrive from State College when we got a call that they had broken down in Altoona, been towed home, regrouped, but wouldn't arrive until close to midnight, technically still Christmas Day but barely. Well, there were five of us in chairs and one in a high chair when we sat down to dinner so there was plenty of elbow room at a table that would normally have sixteen people gathered for the feast. I told Jessica that was what it would be like if she was an only child! The Pennsylvania group arrived in time to go to bed and the next morning we had Christmas breakfast, enjoyed a fabulous day outside, and celebrated Christmas in the spirit of togetherness and love. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and we are sharing some photos so you can see how the grands have grown.

Now it is time for Valentine's Day...seriously? Time just marches on and we are trying to keep up the best we can but sometimes the holidays are just a blur. We are going to have a little fun promotion on Friday to celebrate, as we are calling it, "Healthy Heart Day". If you wear something red on this Friday, February the 3rd, you will get to take a chance for a discount by selecting a heart. The discount will be between 10% and 40% and will be good on one full price item in the shop. You MUST wear red to participate!

Maryellen's annual February trunk show is this Saturday, February the 4th!

We were so sad when she couldn't do her pre Christmas trunk show but we don't have to be sad any longer because she will be here soon!!! You know that Maryellen never disappoints us and she has been hard at work designing many new pieces and I imagine there are some that will be calling your name. If you know Maryellen, you know that I am not exaggerating when I sing her praises and if you haven't met Maryellen yet, you need to come and see what the hype is all about. We will have a drawing for a shop gift certificate and be sampling several Wind & Willow products. The trunk show will be from 10:00 until 3:30ish and I hope you will stop in and say hello!

We are in super good shape to help you out with your Super Bowl Sunday snack needs! We are fully stocked with Wind & Willow cheese ball mix ($5.00), hot and cold dip mix ($3.50), and soup mix ($6.99). Remember that you receive a 10% discount when you buy three or more mixes. We have some recipe cards free for the taking that will show you some other yummy things to do with the mixes. We just received our single serving size hot crab dip mix from gourmet village and it is delicious. The hot and cold dips from Wind & Willow have been very popular and we have everyone's favorites and electric dip warmers to keep your hot dips at the proper serving temperature. We have been out of brie bakers but we are fully stocked with solid white and the traditional white with the grape cluster and we still have stands in stock. We also have the most popular brie topping, cranberry orange, and please do not think it is for holidays only. You will be able to sample several products during the trunk show this Saturday. Yum, yum!!!

Is there a cruise or southern environs vacation in the near future? We can help you look like a million bucks and be protected from the sun at the same time! We have new cover-ups in a fabulous orange/pink combination with totes, make-up bags, and accessory cases in the same pattern. We have Wallaroo sun hats to coordinate nicely and plenty of other colors in stock. We also have cover-ups in a sea blue and white pattern with flip flops to match and another orange and pink design - something for everyone.

Thinking ahead to Valentine's Day:
New for us are adorably cute nighties (sizes small - large)  in a pale blue pattern and a pink cheetah print. The cheetah has matching slippers and what a great gift this set would make, also a sweet treat for yourself! Snoozies in new prints are here and promise to keep your toes warm, snuggly, and feeling pampered. Adding to the items that are a delight are our pompom throws and pillows. Available in several colors, these items beg you to take a nap with them or take sofa time to a new level. You can never go wrong with jewelry and we think we have a fabulous selection with something for everyone! Romance Lights always make a unique and amazing gift and we have lots of designs.  Nanny is baking even as we speak and we will have a large selection of Valentine's Day cookies this week and next week. The designs are delightful, the cookies are delicious, and the price is reasonable. Instead of candy, think about a cookie or two!

We have a new jewelry artist in the shop and, as usual, I think you are going to love her work. Jenny, of Gypsy Hill, creates fabulous jewelry and we have a nice representation of her earrings and several bracelet/earring sets and necklaces. Her work is at once classic and contemporary and will take you from work to an evening out. If you are a fan of lampwork beads, you will be delighted with Jenny's creations! We hope to have a trunk show with her soon but in the meantime, check out the display of her work and enjoy!

Also new to the shop are fun, smiling clay faces from Seeds of Happiness. The idea is to give them as a remembrance or a "paying forward" token. These were a customer request and I am so glad she told me about them because I think they are the best. For a mere $2.00, you can give someone a hand-crafted item from Missouri that may very well make them smile every day. The colors are fun, the faces are funky, and they come with a card that explains what Seeds of Happiness is all about. What a cute Valentine token, party favor, or just for you because you should love yourself you know! They are also available in a bag of ten for $18.00 if you plan to encourage a lot of smiles!

Lots of things are on order and on their way. We are dealing with a new scarf company and my first shipment arrived today. I expect to have the items out by Saturday and I am anxious to hear what you think. Bridgewater Candles and Lolita wine glasses are also making their way to Two Sisters. We hope you will like the new items we are selecting for you!

I want to thank you for your fabulous support during the holiday season. We heard many compliments and hopefully made some new friends. I do have a favor to ask. Would you please continue to think of us as your place to get the unusual and unique and tell your friends about us. You are our very best advertising and we are so flattered when you send friends and family our way. We do need your support and we hope to always be worthy of your patronage. We look forward to seeing you soon!!!

Kindest regards,
Heather, Christine, Joanie, Karen, and Janice
